Share Challenges to Responsibility

Topic Progress:

The Context

“As I see it, there are two great forces of human nature:  self-interest and caring for others.”

– Bill Gates

Our very existence is full of challenges preparing us for what?  Physical survival is a primary motivator; all of us need resources to live.  We also need love, a feeling of being cared for and valued.  Change throughout history has been created by leaders who feel an injustice in humanity.  Whether humanity demands expression for its existence or for its needs, revolutions stem from the need for balance and dignity.  Gaining new perspectives offers new solutions to the responsibility of our humanity.

Are we only responsible for ourselves and the people we care about or does our responsibility extend to the world at large for our survival?  Through increased connections, communications, and resource management, we now have the ability to embark on a new vision for not only for our survival, but the world at large.  All of humanity is now able to benefit and thrive from new technology.  These benefits include:  industrial productivity, medical advancements, home efficiency, social communication, business solutions, transportation innovation, etc.

But what of our essential nature?  We’ve addressed the masculine nature in doing with scientific breakthroughs and technology, but we still have not addressed the feminine nature in being–being in relationship with ourselves and one another.

How can we address our core understanding of the world in relationship?

Is it time now to do so if we are not only to survive as well as thrive while moving into a new era of peace and fulfillment?

How can we address relationship for the purpose of enlightened consciousness?

Can we come to this core understanding of relationship by establishing a knowledge base of worth/value and its responsibilities?

Can a women’s collective consciousness of self-acceptance generate peaceful relationship?

Can this collective consciousness honor men’s need for drive and action?

Can neediness and greed be replaced with fulfillment?

Can a collective statement of women’s leadership and responsibilities assuage the fear of the unknown in men and help to create a balanced, uplifting partnership through a declaration of interdependence?  Can a man’s ownership of maturity reinstate a natural order of respect allowing women to honor and be honored?

The answer is yes to all of the above and we attain this core understanding of the world in relationship through women.  The conscious influence of women’s spirit can heal the world and to do so we need a gauge to determine what needs to be done.  Being clear in responsibility for all humanity leads to relationship health through a more fully developed maturity.  By formulating a gauge measuring maturity, we are able to ascertain the progressive needs for responsibility and development.  The unconscious development of maturity can be brought into the light of consciousness through relationship and by the implementation of women.

Can we create a useful gauge to measure development into maturity?  This gauge measuring who we are and what we need to do to move toward maturity gives us our starting point and direction for growth.  A gauge to measure responsibility likewise is a measure of maturity.

The management of responsibility toward fulfillment through time is the process of maturity.  Immaturity stems from the fear of responsibility or the lack of integrity to embrace one’s identity.  This fear in actuality is the fear of the unknown.  Maturity as a personal knowledge is made possible through grappling with and finding insight into the nature of this unknown.

What are the gender responsibilities which are still unknown that promote fear?  If women’s darkness is their fear of unmet needs, would not our responsibilities lie in communicating our needs?  If men’s darkness is their fear of disgrace, would not their responsibilities lie in honor?  What are the needs of women?  What creates honor for men?  These are the questions that must be answered if we are to return to the honor of men, to the guidance of women, and to the responsibility of relationship.  Maturation requires the management of gender responsibilities.

Gender Responsibilities and Maturation

The responsibilities and maturation of worth/value entail a responsibility toward oneself and other.  The difference of maturation between women and men can be found in the nature of worth and value, between being and doing.

The process of maturation for women’s worth involves:

  • Nurturing the identity of self, the virtue of spirit, and the health of spirit through knowledge of needs
  • Nurturing the consciousness of joy and the ability to receive
  • Nurturing the value of and expression of spirit
  • Nurturing guidance and intuition toward commitment
  • Nurturing the vision of union
  • Nurturing guidance of relationships by giving through the dignity of worth to one another
  • Nurturing a safe and happy relationship by having respect for and protection of each other in humanity

The process of maturation for men’s value first involves establishing for themselves their character and abilities and then honoring their character and abilities in relationship:

Self

Cultivate self-protection

Cultivate provision

Cultivate self-appreciation

Cultivate honor

Cultivate vision for self

Woman

Cultivate protection of women

Cultivate provision for women

Cultivate appreciation for women

Cultivate honor for women

Cultivate the vision of women

Others – For whom there is care

Cultivate protection

Cultivate provision

Cultivate appreciation

Cultivate honor

Cultivate vision of relationship

Self-interest and care (for self and others) evolve maturity.  Together the maturation process for women and men forms a union of wholeness that nurtures life.  Together in this union of wholeness, challenges can be reframed as opportunities for joy and peace.  Together women and men in partnership create the opportunities for joy and peace which enrich life.  Responsibility is the key to this union of wholeness from which we can govern life well together, moving us out of the darkness into the delight of possibility.

An Insight

How can leadership be identified?

Leadership is found in accepting patterns of responsibility aligned with a vision to fulfill purpose.  The ability to address challenges successfully in relation to others is a matter of honor and building trust in a mutual vision which enhances life.

Women nurture and guide life.  Having a consciousness of responsibility allows us to envision a life of what could be.  Rather than laying blame on men due to our unconsciousness or our fears, we can learn to participate through partnership.  If women come to understand the nature of worth and its responsibilities, then our ability to survive and thrive is enhanced.  Creating a world where humanity can move into joy is the greatest gift of women.  Our ability to transform our challenges to honor and share responsibility with men begins by women making a choice to embrace who we are as women.  This choice to love ourselves as women claims our beauty and the beauty of life.

Knowing yourself, your needs, your wants, and your responsibilities clarifies the relationship to yourself and others.  What are your responsibilities toward yourself?  Your emotional worth is the life of your spirit to guide.  Expressing your emotions responsibly–both the highs and lows– maintains balance and peace.  The patterns of responsibility which you accept and which support your emotional life begin your leadership.  Your ability to guide well determines the outcome of relationship and its maturity.

Maturation is the ability to face the challenges of responsibility which ultimately lead toward fulfillment.  Some paths are more difficult than others, having more darkness than light.  Some take longer, some are solitary, while some are in the limelight as models to show the way.  Whatever the path, the acceptance of responsibilities can turn darkness into light.  The journey of life from darkness into light, through the process of maturation, entails developing perspectives which create meaning for yourself.  These perspectives are gained by raising and responding to the magnitude of questions regarding life in relation to:

  • Our identity and health – How do we establish it?

  • Our dynamic relations – How do we honor our humanity and exchange?

  • Our ideals – How do we develop and exercise trust and transformation?

  • Our Purpose – How do we realize our resources and self-expression?

  • Our Goals – How do we manifest achievement and fulfillment?

  • Our Challenges – How do we form and sustain integrity and character?

  • Our Gender – How do we respect worth/value?

  • Our Union – How do we fulfill peace, joy, and the significance of time?

When we respond to these questions effectively, we move toward fulfillment.

The creation of meaning is reflected in our responses to these questions that create patterns of responsibility.  These patterns consist of ways in which we habitually manage time, respect/compassion, worth/value, and care/joy in relation to the aforementioned.  (A continued discussion of the magnitude of life’s questions and the patterns of responsibility can be found in the Self-Leadership Passage.)

What again is the ultimate objective and purpose of your chosen responsibilities?  Can you identify patterns of responsibilities that support your objective or purpose?  As a woman, becoming aware of your patterns of responsibility can suggest ways in which you can mature and lead a relationship toward maturity.

As a man, these patterns offer a return to self-respect as the dignity of your life and in relationship as being worthy of honor.  For both women and men, to be able to identify significant relationship and a comfortable level of satisfaction in joy and care is to be able to unlock a life lived in peace.  To establish a lifestyle which expresses the safety of joy and the warmth of care nurtures a union of benevolence and well-being.

These questions remain:  Can a collective statement of women’s responsibilities assuage the fear of the unknown in men and help to create a balanced, uplifting partnership through a declaration of interdependence?  Can a man’s ownership of maturity reinstate a natural order of respect allowing women to honor and be honored?
